FRUCTOSE CATABOLISM - AN EXAMPLE FUNDER shows how the C++ classes contained in funderlib.a can be used for two main purposes: a) Computing the susceptibilities of a biochemical system from responses to impulses. b) Using the susceptibilities for approximating the response of the system to any excitation. A sufficiently elaborate system, a part of fructose catabolism, was chosen to demostrate that this approach can be used for systems of any complexity. The description of the example is divided in five parts: 1. System 2. Components 4. Parameters For a comparison of the "exact" response of this system to several excitations and the approximation obtained by third-order functional Taylor expansion, see the data files.
