FUNDER is an application that illustrates the calculation of the susceptibilities of non-linear biochemical systems. As an example, it implements the dynamics of a part of fructose catabolism in terms of the differential equations of a model. It uses several C++ classes that are freely available as a library. For a description and compilation instructions, visit the documentation and download pages. MOTIVATION The response of a biochemical system can be formally represented as a functional transformation of the systemic inputs. In many instances, the functional must be expanded in a functional Taylor series, because an explicit form is not known. In order to do so, the susceptibilities of the system (or its functional derivatives) must be computed. If you feel uncomfortable with functional derivatives, take a look at the theoretical pages.
